Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Junior Piano Scholarship

The Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Junior Piano Scholarship provides a platform for young Australian pianists to perform and compete in their formative years. The event saw young artists playing pieces from a varied repertoire to progress to the highly regarded finals at Chippen Street Theatre in Chippendale.

This year’s Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Junior Piano Scholarship finals were held on 15 July at Chippen Street Theatre. The esteemed adjudicators for this year’s event were Mekhla Kumar, David Paterson and Vatche Jambazian.

The Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Junior Piano Scholarship was presented to Jiuchun (Joy) Yin taking home a total prize of $5000. Finalists – Elton Huang, Daniel Zhu and Reily Wang – also took home a $300 prize.

Sydney Eisteddfod gratefully acknowledges the generous support of Kawai Australia, the Estate of the late John Allison AM and the donors to the Sydney Eisteddfod Jubilee Fund who make this scholarship and the finalist awards possible.
