Sydney Eisteddfod is saddened by the passing of a true champion of the performing arts and valued friend of the company

Vale Robert Albert AO

The Board and staff of Sydney Eisteddfod were saddened to hear of the passing of Robert Albert AO RFD RD. Robert & Libby’s loyal and generous support over many years has seen hundreds of young ballet dancers launched on the pathway to follow their dreams and many are now found on stages around the world.

A quiet philanthropist supporting many causes to create a better future, Robert’s legacy will live on through the gratitude of all those his generosity has touched. Sydney Eisteddfod is honoured and grateful to have been included in Robert’s many philanthropic endeavours and his belief in supporting the next generation of performing artists.

He will be sadly missed.  Our thoughts are with Libby and the Albert family at this difficult time.
