Sydney Eisteddfod’s exciting move to Chippen Street!

Sydney Eisteddfod is thrilled to announce our exciting move to Chippen Street Theatre ahead of the start of the 2023 Eisteddfod season.

Chippen Street Theatre, located at 45 Chippen Street, Chippendale, is a fully equipped fifty seat, black box theatre space in the heart of Chippendale. Inclusive with the theatre space, is a lighting and sound area, as well as a separate foyer space. Only a short 10-minute walk from Central and Redfern stations, the venue boasts of opportunity and creative potential for entrants to perform in. As the new home of Sydney Eisteddfod, the theatre is ideally located next to a wide span office space, making it the hub for all things Sydney Eisteddfod.

Sydney Eisteddfod General Manager, Annette Brown, is beyond excited for this next step. “Sydney Eisteddfod at the Chippen Street Theatre will give many young performers real intimate public performances where they can interact with their audiences and mentors. I look forward to providing a space to foster many more creative voices for years to come”.

The 2023 season boasts an extensive program of much-loved events with just under 350 on offer, many of which will now be held at Chippen Street Theatre. This year, the focus of Sydney Eisteddfod heavily remains on giving back to the community. As a non-for-profit, it was and always will be about providing a supportive environment for performers to gain valuable experience and connect with like-minded individuals. The potential within the arts sector that this new space will give, is endless.

The move to Chippen Street Theatre will provide extensive opportunity for growth and development, not only during the 2023 Eisteddfod season, but for years to come. We could not be more excited to share this next chapter with our community.
