5-30 dancers performing Hip Hop. This event is open to students in Stage 4 (Years 7-8). Time limit up to 5 minutes.

Ms Lauren Watson
Lauren has worked professionally within the industry with credits including ‘The Great Gatsby’, ‘Goddess’ the movie musical, ‘Hair and Bridal Expo’, Showcase National Dance Championships MC/host; as well as appearing in shows and music videos such as Channel 7’s ‘Sunrise’ and ‘So you think you can dance’ as well as been a Brand Ambassador for the NRL West Tigers.
Lauren has an extensive list of training including a certificate IV in Performing Arts, a Certificate III & IV in Fitness, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, VET teacher qualified in Assistant Dance Teaching and a Bachelors in Dance Education.
Lauren has been teaching from a young age and has taught at several dance studios across New South Wales and fitness gyms. Lauren ran a successful dance studio for several years before closing this and moving into using her formal education qualification. Lauren is now the Head Teacher of PDHPE & Dance at a Department of Education school and works regularly with the Arts unit for a number of dance festivals as well as directing all performances & presentations run by her high school. Lauren also helps run and teaches for United Physical Culture.
Lauren began adjudicating a number of years ago and has since adjudicated regularly each year for both dance and cheer events. She is known for her positive yet constructive feedback for all competitors. Lauren’s passion lies within aspiring young performers and mentoring students to achieve the best they possibly can.
Important Notes
Please note that dance tarkett will be provided - vocalisations from performers and footwear with metal or sneakers with black soles are not permitted.
Music is to be uploaded to the Sydney Eisteddfod Entrant Portal no later than 14 days prior to the event. Files should be in MP3 format. Please refer to Item 9 of the Dance Rules & Conditions of Entry.
Applicants will be prompted to complete additional information, via the Sydney Eisteddfod Entrant Portal, in the lead up to their event:
* Number of performers
* Names of helpers and teachers who will require venue back of house access
Note: A maximum of 3 helpers need to remain with the group at all times, including going with them to warm-up areas (if such spaces are available), settling the group prior to taking to the stage, assisting, and supervising the group after their performance.
