Entry Information

This event is for newly formed bands and aims to provide an opportunity for primary school beginner instrumentalists to perform. Own choice of a program. No vocals, however vocalising allowed if included in the score. Total performance time of up to 8 minutes, which includes time taken between items.

Important Notes

A hard copy of complete scores, in order of performance, with bars numbered and clearly labelled with your Entrant Number, must be handed to the front desk upon arrival at the venue. Specific genre items (e.g. Blues, Swing) and Grades must also be identified on scores. Registrants do NOT need to upload copies of the music to their Entrant Portal ahead of the day. Please note: For equitable adjudication, specialist/private music schools are ineligible to enter. Only instrumental primary school ensembles are permitted.

Conditions

Minimum of 18 instrumentalists (Please note Sydney Eisteddfod can provide a maximum of 60 orchestral chairs & only 50 music stands). Should groups intend on bringing additional instruments or equipment they must notify Sydney Eisteddfod, no later than two weeks prior to the performance date, to [email protected] This event is for traditional concert band instrumentation. The bass line only may be doubled by electric bass guitar/s or single keyboard. Acoustic substitutes (e.g. clarinet for oboe, or piano for harp) are acceptable. Please refer to the Instrumental Category Rules & Conditions of Entry. Your entry is accepted under these conditions.
