Entry Information

Own choice of one published monologue, to be performed in costume. Total performance time to be between 2-4 minutes. Entrants are encouraged to consider contemporary monologues, particularly those from Australian works

Ms Sarah Jane Starr

A classically trained ballet dancer in a past life, Sarah Jane (SJ) Starr is a 2013 NIDA Graduate. She is currently a Speech & Drama Peripatetic at Wenona School teaching the Trinity College Syllabus in Acting and Speech & Drama as well as a working actor.  Her theatre credits include; KXT’s World Premier of Mercury Poisoning, the 2020 winner of the Silver Gull Play Award, God’s and Little Fishes. This exceptional production was also nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Independent Theatre Best Production. Also Mark O’Rowe’s The Approach (Flight Path Theatre), As You Like It (Sport For Jove), Dead Skin (KXT), Picnic At Hanging Rock (New Theatre), The Killing of Sister George (G. Bod Theatre, King Street Theatre and The Night Alive (Old Fitz). She toured Australia with the popular Fawlty Towers Live production and travelled to Tokyo for Honchos Meeting In Cowra.     A versatile and dedicated performer for both stage and screen;  TV, Film and Voiceover credits include, Home and Away (Channel 7), Skinford (Stan), Girt By Fear (Web Series) and a variety of TVCs for MG Cars, Domain, Gaviscon, Hitachi and Cetaphil.   SJ will soon be performing in CDP’s new production - Being Beethoven.  SJ plays the viola also.

Note: A copy of the work to be performed must be uploaded to the Sydney Eisteddfod Entrant Portal no later than two weeks prior to the event. Please refer to the Speech & Drama Rules & Conditions of Entry. Your entry is accepted under these conditions.
