Important Notes

A copy of complete scores, in order of performance, with bars numbered, must be provided. Specific genre items (e.g. Romantic, Classical) and Grades must also be identified on scores.

Copies of music must be uploaded to the Sydney Eisteddfod Entrant Portal no later than two weeks prior to the event (see item 3, in the Instrumental Rules & Conditions of Entry).

For primary school level, arrangements of orchestral works are strongly encouraged.

Conditions

A minimum of 15 instrumentalists is required (Please note Sydney Eisteddfod can provide a maximum of 60 orchestral chairs and only 50 music stands).

The orchestra must include strings and at least one other group of the orchestral family (i.e. woodwind/brass/percussion). The make up of the orchestra may vary with each item to coincide with the score.

Original scoring must be adhered to. An electric piano (synthesizer) can be used in lieu of a harp, harpsichord or organ. Acoustic substitutes (e.g. clarinet for oboe) may be made in lieu of the original.
