On Tuesday 10 September 2019 at Petersham RSL Club, 12 aspiring singers sung up a storm in Sydney Eisteddfod's Singer of the Year Finals. The Juniors and Seniors performed at a higher level than ever seen before.
After a night of musical excellence, the title of Senior Singer of the Year was awarded to Siobhan Lynch and Junior Singer of the Year to Monique Raso.
Siobhan's engaging performances of a medley from Charlie Chaplin the Musical, Some Good Things Never Last and Orange Coloured Sky, learned her the title of Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Singer of the Year 2019. She was awarded $4,000, which was generously sponsored by Petersham RSL Club and supplemented by the Sydney Eisteddfod Jubilee Fund.
Monique performed two songs, Fields of Gold and Just Around the River Bend. Her winning performances earned her $2,000 and the title of Sydney Eisteddfod Junior Singer of the Year 2019.
Mira Thippawal, shining bright on stage in a gold sequin dress impressed the crowed winning the audience vote and also a $250 voucher from backingtracks.com.au.
The other $300 voucher for recorded backing tracks was awarded to Isabel Kratz.
2018 also commemorates the 29 year partnership between Sydney Eisteddfod and Petersham RSL Club. Sydney Eisteddfod extends their thanks to the directors, staff and members of Petersham RSL Club for their continued support over the years.
Sydney Eisteddfod congratulates all of the other Junior finalists Hannah McGlinchey, Mikaila Kadlec, Daisy Armfield, Ava Pickup and Lily Kennedy-Head and Senior finalists Sophie Bridget Dalisay, Jaiden Thomas, and Emma Gosbell for their fabulous performances in the Final.
