Jessica Harper, 2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship Quarter-Finalist
Jessica Harper graduated with First Class Honours in Classical Singing from the ANU School of Music. Equally at home in all aspects of classical performance, she has been broadcast as a concert soloist and recitalist on both ABC Classic FM and 2MBS Fine Music FM. Jess completed her second year as a Young Artist with Pacific Opera in 2015.
Recent operatic roles include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Casilda (The Gondoliers), Lisa and cover Amina (La Sonnamula), Pamina and First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Mrs Norris (Mansfield Park – Australian Premier), La Zelatrice and Prima Sorella Cercatrice (Suor Angelica) and Frantik, Chocholka and the Inkeeper’s Wife (The Cunning Little Vixen).
Recent notable successes in the Australian competition circuit include Jess named ‘Runner Up’ for the Herald Sun Aria (2016), runner up in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Awards (2016) and being selected as a Semi Finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship (2016). In past years Jess has been a Semi Finalist for the IFAC Australian Singing Competition (2014), a Semi Finalist in the Fine Music FM Young Virtuosi Award (2015), and winner of the Patricia Fagan Operatic Aria at the Cowra Eisteddfod (2015).
