Jared Lillehagen, 2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship Quarter-Finalist
Jared Lillehagen studied a Bachelor of Music Performance and an Advanced Diploma of Opera at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying under Dr Michael Halliwell and Anke Hoepner. Since graduating in 2013, he has performed vast and varied roles from Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) to Harašta (The Cunning Little Vixen) taking on roles with Opera Australia, Sydney Chamber Opera, Opera Hunter, Opera New England, and Pacific Opera. Performing extensively as an oratorio soloist, Jared has appeared with Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, Sydney University Graduate Choir, Penrith Symphony Orchestra, and Sydney Conservatorium Choirs. He has also performed with the Opera Australia Chorus in Puccini’s Turandot and Bizet’s Carmen. Jared reached the semi final round of 2013 Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Bel Canto competition, where he received the Dante Alighieri Scholarship. During 2016 and 2017 Jared has been touring full time with Opera Australia’s NSW schools program, and performs regularly as a recitalist.
