Amanda Windred, 2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Quarter-Finalist
Soprano Amanda Windred has completed an Advance and Graduate Diploma of Opera at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as well as a Masters in Music Studies (Opera) at the QLD Conservatorium.
In 2014 Amanda joined the SSO to perform the Zweite Magd in their production of Elektra by Strauss. Amanda joined the QSO under the Baton of Johannes Fritzsch, to perform La Luce Langue from Macbeth by Verdi in the Food of Love concert.
In 2014 Amanda was also the 1st Reserve Finalist for the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera and Arts Support Group Vocal Scholarship, winner of the 'best' Wagner Song or Aria Award, and was a Finalist in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship.
In 2015 Amanda joined Opera Australia to cover the title role of Turandot for their winter season of the opera. Amanda then travelled to Germany where she began intensive studies in the German language.
2016 had Amanda travelling to Miami in the USA for the Miami Summer Music Festival where she was a Studio Artist. At the MMF, Amanda performed the role of Mrs. Grose in their production of Britten’s Turn of the Screw with great reviews, as well as had the opportunity to work with some of the top conductors, coaches and directors in the industry.
