212: Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai JUNIOR PIANO SCHOLARSHIP (11-16 Years)

Works must be prepared and performed from memory as follows:

* Heats (Video Submission): One work, total performance time up to 10 minutes. (Note: This item may be repeated ONCE in another event. Please refer to Item 7 under the Piano Category Rules & Conditions) 

*Semi-Final: Two works. Total Performance Time of up to 15 minutes. May include the heat item.

* Final: One work. Total performance time of between 15-20 minutes, which cannot include the heat or semi-final item/s.

Entrants MUST EMAIL: juniorpianoscholarship@sydneyeisteddfod.com.au NO LATER THAN Monday 30 May 2022, the following details or entry may be forfeited:

a) Titles & composers of the work proposed for the Final, with total performance time (No changes to repertoire selection within the fortnight before the commencement of the heats). The adjudicators are given this information at the heats and entrants will be informed if their works are considered unsuitable for the Final.
b) A 200-word biography in paragraph format (as a WORD document, not printed). This biography will be given to the judges at the heats and should contain information of your current & proposed studies, especially should you win this Scholarship.
c) Your preferred COLOUR publicity picture (if you have one) as a JPEG FILE – in HIGH RESOLUTON.

Heats: Entrants are required to submit a recording of a performance made in 2022 (without edit). Those found in breach of this will be disqualified and possibly banned from entering this event in future years.

1. FOUR FINALISTS AND TWO RESERVE FINALISTS will be selected from the heats.
2. Adjudicators' reports will be written for the preliminary heats only. No marks will be given on these reports.
3. The Scholarship will be awarded with $1,000 upon winning and the balance in four equal instalments over two years.
4. The Scholarship must be taken within two years of winning and completed within two years thereafter or be forfeited. The payment of instalments is upon application to Sydney Eisteddfod with satisfactory reports of progress from the winner's teacher or teaching institution.
5. The Winner and Finalists must be reasonably available for media interviews and to perform without fee in future Showcase performances nominated by and in the interest of Sydney Eisteddfod.
6. Please also refer to Item 11 under the Piano Rules & Conditions of Entry. Your entry is accepted under these conditions.

Total Prize Value Exceeds: $6,000

Winner: $5,000 ($1,000 cash plus $4,000 Scholarship)

Finalists (excluding place-getter): $300 each. Sponsored through Sydney Eisteddfod.

This ticket entitles the holder to watch the event live and provides access to the footage for 72 hours from the morning after the event.
