AMEB (NSW) Centenary Concert will feature performances from Sydney Eisteddfod adjudicator Christopher Keane and Alumni Grace, Eunice, Ester and Caleb Wong, performed with their sibling Sarah on Friday 10 August, 2018 at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The two-hour long program will feature a combination of AMEB graduates, outstanding young artists and acclaimed musicians and actors, presenting a combination of local contemporary and classical works, from Ross Edwards through to Tchaikovsk.
Christopher Keane will be performing on the guitar alongside Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich (Violin), Amy Hume (Narrator) and Giuseppe Zangari (Guitar) the premier of 'Immigrants at Central station, 1951', a poem by Peter Skrzynecki (1973), set to music composed by Christopher in May this year. The new version of the poem celebrates the contribution European migrants made to the fine arts in Australia during the latter half of the 20th century.
The Wong family, including 2014 Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship (16-25 years) finalist, Caleb Wong, will be performing Albert Roussel's Sérénade for Flute, String Trio and Harp, Op.30. Grace, Eunice, Ester and Caleb each have a history competing in Sydney Eisteddfod events over the years and have acquired a number of music qualifications on the piano, violin, cello, flute and recorder.
