In 2017, the Sydney Eisteddfod Actor’s Championships will allow aspiring performers to showcase their ability to memorise and perform a minimum of two pieces on stage in the prestigious NIDA Studio. In order to be eligible to compete, entrants must also enter and perform in any two solo Speech and Drama events in their age group.
This year, the Sydney Eisteddfod Actor's Championship (15-18 Years) holds a total prize value of $1,700, with the winner also receiving two weeklong courses at NIDA to the value of $595. NIDA has generously offered to provide the winner with a choice of two introductory through to advanced weeklong courses during the school holidays. Potential courses include Screen Acting, Scene work, Stage Combat, HSC Drama Performance Improvisation, Acting Techniques, TV Presenting, Voice intensives and many more.
The younger actor’s who perform in the Sydney Eisteddfod Actor's Championship (12-14 Years) will also have their chance to win a portion of a $700 prize pool. The winner of this event will also receive two weekend school holiday courses valued at $320 from NIDA. These school holiday weekend courses are designed specifically for children and young people, helping them to unlock and explore creativity. There is a wide range to choose from including, Audition and Screen test training, Screen Acting, Public speaking, TV presenting and Acting Boot Camp.
