A memorised solo performance of at least three items.

Strict performance of minimum 8 and maximum 12 minutes (to include introductions and linking dialogue totalling approximately 1 minute).

Note: All items may have been performed in previous events. Please refer to Item 7 under Speech & Drama Category Rules & Conditions.


Prerequisite:
1) Entrants MUST enter and perform in:
* 315: Shakespeare Monologue In Rehearsal Blacks (15-18 Years)
2) AND EITHER:
* 312 Monologue/Character (16-18 Years) OR 317: Monologue/Character (15 Years)
3) AND ONE other event from the following:
* 313: Verse Speaking (16-18 Years)
* 314: Prose Speaking (16-18 Years)
* 316: Australian Poem (15 & Under) - only if aged 15 years
* 318: Verse Speaking (14 & 15 Years) - only if aged 15 years
* 319: Prose Speaking (14 & 15 Years) - only if aged 15 years

In this Championship there are no restrictions on use of costume for any item, at the performer's discretion.

Adjudicators' reports will be written but no marks will be given on these reports.

The Winner will also receive a voucher to the value of $620 to be used towards any NIDA Open short course over the next 12 months (not redeemable for cash). NIDA Open offers a choice of introductory through to advanced courses for young people and adults throughout the school term and during school holidays at our flagship venue in Kensington and at various locations across Sydney. There is a wide range to choose from including: Drama, Screen Acting, Film Making, Writing, Musical Theatre, HSC Drama Performance, Improvisation, Presenting, Directing and many more. A Gift Certificate from Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) will also be given out at the discretion of the adjudicator. Gift Certificate entitles the winner to one complimentary holiday workshop throughout the year offered by ATYP.
