A memorised solo performance of at least three items. Strict performance of minimum 8 and maximum 12 minutes (to include introductions and linking dialogue totalling approximately 1 minute).

Note: Each item may have been performed ONCE in previous events. Please refer to Item 7 under Speech & Drama Category Rules & Conditions.

Prerequisite:
1) Entrants must enter and perform in EITHER:
* 313: Shakespeare Monologue In Rehearsal Blacks (17-18 Years)
   OR
* 318: Shakespeare Monologue In Rehearsal Blacks (15-16 Years)
2) AND TWO other events from the following:
* 311: Australian Poem (18 & Under) - only if aged 15-18 yrs
* 312: Monologue/Character (17-18 Years)
* 314: Verse Speaking (16-18 Years)
* 315: Prose Speaking (16-18 Years)
* 317: Monologue/Character (16 Years)
* 319: Monologue/Character (15 Years)
* 320: Verse Speaking (15 Years)
* 321: Prose Speaking (14 & 15 Years) - only if aged 15 yrs

In this Championship there are no restrictions on use of costume for any item, at the performer's discretion.

Adjudicators' reports will be written but no marks will be given on these reports.

2nd: $500
3rd: $200

The winner also receives a 2 weeks course valued at $595 from NIDA (not redeemable for cash). NIDA offers the winner a choice of introductory through to advanced week-long courses for young people during the holidays. There is a wide range to choose from including: Screen Acting, Scene Work, Stage Combat, HSC Drama Performance Improvisation, Acting Techniques, TV Presenting, Voice Intensives and many more.

The winner and one additional entrant (at the discretion of the adjudicator) will also be given the opportunity to take part in the Griffin Ambassador Program in 2021. This is open to all entrants who will be in Years 10-12 in 2021. 

A Gift Certificate from Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) will also be given out at the discretion of the adjudicator. Gift Certificate entitles the winner to one complimentary holiday workshop throughout the year offered by ATYP.
