Stephan Kooper has been involved in choirs as a chorister and conductor for over 30 years and completed his degree in Music Education from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His interest in choral conducting was sparked by an eagerness to learn more about Armenian folk music. Stephan developed his conducting more formally with Dr Rodney Eichenberger and his work with school choirs has been formally recognised by the Minister for Education.
Stephan has had the pleasure of working with Bel a Capella, Macquarie University Singers, London Symphony Chorus,Willoughby Symphony Choir and the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus and currently holds the position, Head of Junior School Music at a leading Sydney School.
Stephan is passionate about music education and the positive impact that good quality experiences provide young musicians. He wishes all choirs the best for their performances and hopes that conductors, choristers and parents have enjoyed the rigor of learning, refining and performing their pieces.
