Molly Stewart, winner of both the Sydney Eisteddfod Junior and Senior Singer of the Year in 2015 and 2016 respectively, has recently been cast as Rose in the Arcadians Theatre Groups upcoming production of Dogfight the Musical.
Based in Illawarra, Arcadians Theatre Group has been going strong since the 1960's with some members having gone on to highly successful careers, most notably Australian Opera and Musical Theatre star Anthony Warlow!
This is a big achievement for 17-year-old Molly who aspires to pursue a professional career in the arts after completing her schooling.
Dogfight takes audiences on a romantic and heartbreaking journey and Molly’s character of Rose is sure to win over audiences with her gentle nature.
“When we first meet Rose she is awkward and naive, but kind hearted and optimistic. The events that occur in the show allow her to develop into a stronger and braver character” said Molly.
“Audiences can expect a beautiful musical with a confronting but important message”.
It has been one year since Molly won the Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Singer of the Year and when looking back she remembers it as a positive and educational experience.
“It was such an honour to win! I really feel it helped me with my development and mindset as a performer.”
Sydney Eisteddfod congratulates Molly on this achievement and is so proud to be recognised as a platform for launching the careers of young people.
Dogfight will run from the 10 – 25 November 2017 at the Miner’s Lamp Theatre.
