* Ronald Dowd established himself as a principal tenor in Opera and Oratoria in Sydney before joining Sadler's Wells Opera as principal tenor with performances at Covent Garden and other leading European companies. He returned to Sydney, singing with Joan Sutherland at the opening of the Sydney Opera House and continued thereafter, singing and teaching.
