Most recently Lucas Jervies directed, choreographed and co-devised Hidden Sydney The Glittering Mile, which returned to Vivid Festival in 2017 for its third season. Hidden Sydney is an immersive cabaret that celebrates stories from Sydney’s red light district, Kings Cross. Lucas adapted and directed Roald Dahl’s The Witches, for Grif n Theatre Company, a one-man devised theatre work starring Guy Edmonds that toured nationally to critical acclaim.

He recently directed and premiered a production of Little Red Riding Hood for the Queensland Ballet and QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival. Lucas was choreographer on Belvoir Theatre’s musical play Mr Burns. He was Dramaturge for The Australian Ballet’s production of The Sleeping Beauty and Movement Director on Fly Away Peter for Sydney Chamber Opera presented by CarriageWorks. Lucas directed Apples and Eve for Expressions Dance Company presented by Queensland Theatre Company’s Greenhouse series and has held the positions of Af liate Director with Grif nTheatre Company,Artistic Director of Buzz Dance Theatre, Rehearsal Director for Sydney Dance Company and co-director of JACK productions. 

He has created dance for Sydney Dance Company,The Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet,West Australian Ballet and Opera Australia and many others. Lucas has also created internationally for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Louisville Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Korzo Theatre Den Haag, Noverre Society Stuttgart Ballet and CoDarts Rotterdam University for the Arts. Lucas was the Assistant Director to Neil Arm eld on William Shakespeare’s King Lear for Sydney Theatre Company, starring Geoffrey Rush and Assistant Director to Imara Savage on Noel Coward’s Hay Fever for Sydney Theatre Company.

Lucas danced professionally performing both classical and contemporary repertoire withTheAustralian Ballet, DanceWorks and Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, contributing as collaborator/dancer to over 80 contemporary creations and world premiere seasons. He is a graduate of the NIDA Directing Course and The Australian Ballet School.
