Guillermo Keys-Arenas Dance Trust to support 2017 Ballet Scholarship

Sydney Eisteddfod is delighted to announce that the Guillermo Keys-Arenas Dance Trust will be sponsoring the 2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship’s Outright Winner Prize.

The total prize value is $18,000, which is divided between a $15,000 Scholarship to put towards further tuition and $3,000 cash.

Guillermo Keys-Arenas was a world-renowned choreographer and dancer, who made a sustainable contribution to dance in Australia. After an expansive career with Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, his first Australian engagement was as ballet master and teacher for Sydney Dance Company, which was known as Dance Company of NSW at the time.

In the years that followed he took on a series of positions teaching, lecturing and choreographing for the Australian Ballet, the Australian Ballet School, the Victorian College of the Arts, NIDA, University of Western Sydney and even Sydney Theatre Company.

Sydney Eisteddfod is very honoured to accept this support from the Guillermo Keys-Dance Trust and is very grateful to be able to offer this incredible prize.
