Soprano Daniela Leska was announced as a Finalist in The Acclaim Awards Italian Opera Fellowship for 2018, including a two-week Opera Masterclass Series in Melbourne for the selected 18-32 year old singers. Alongside six other finalists, including alumni Jessica Harper, Daniela worked with renowned Italian operatic soprano Professor Valeria Esposito and pianist David Lemprieri-Laughton on predominantly Bel Canto repertoire.
Daniela performed as a quarter and semi-finalist in The Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship (35 & under) in 2016 and 2018 respectively as well as winning 2nd prize in The Sydney Eisteddfod Opera & Arts Support Group Vocal Scholarship in 2018. She was also invited to sing as a guest artist for The Sydney Eisteddfod John Allison and Kawai Piano Scholarship Final and, a month later, for the President of the Republic of Poland.
2018 has been an exciting year for Daniela: she also toured NSW with Opera Australia's Schools Company performing Mozart's opera “The Magic Flute” in the role of Pamina and finally, in Europe, she has been invited to sing for the President of the Czech Republic in November.
