Clemens Leske has been concerto soloist with all of Australia’s major symphony orchestras:Sydney,Melbourne,Adelaide,Tasmanian,West Australian and Queensland, and has appeared in Spain, the United Kingdom, Singapore, New Zealand and China. He has performed regularly with the Australian String Quartet,Australian Chamber Orchestra,MoscowVirtuosi and at such festivals as the Barossa International, Huntington, Musica Viva, Spring and Adelaide.
Recent appearances have included performances of Mozart’s K413 and K467 Piano Concerti with the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, and a national touring partnership with world-renowned flautist Sir James Galway. Last May and June saw Clemens perform Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Piano Concerto with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra,four performances of Beethoven’sTriple Concerto (Ashkenazy) and concerto appearances in Beijing and Guangzhou, China, performing the Shanlin Piano Concerto, as well as a Coffee Concer t for Musica Viva and in May this year he par ticipated in the Canberra Festival performing Beethoven piano sonatas.
Clemens is also in demand as a pedagogue, giving masterclasses at conservatoriums around Australia and serving on the Jury for national and international competitions, including the Shepparton National Piano Award, the ABC Young Performers’ Awards and the Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition. He is also currently Senior Lecturer in Keyboard at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
