Carine Jenkins

Classical Singing

Carine Jenkins graduated from UNE. majoring in Music and History. She also studied performance at the Sydney Conservatorium Opera School. Her previous career was as a Principal and Chorus singer with Opera Australia for 10 years. Roles have included Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute, Echo in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Emmie in Britten’s Albert Herring. Operatic repertoire includes 47 operas.Teachers included Elsie Findlay, Beatrice Webster, Graham McIntosh and Lenard Whiting in Canada.

Carine was Head of Music Coordinator and Music Curriculum at Pymble Ladies’ College for 32 years. Now she continues to be a full time Private Instrumental Teacher, specializing in Voice, Piano, Musicianship and Pipe Organ with accompanying for Examinations and the Royal Ballet. Carine also specializes in Lieder Repertoire and Classical Art song, including Romance Languages.The RaeburnTrophy for Advancement of Classics was awarded to Carine in 2012 by the Classical Languages Teachers’ Association.

Carine was Conductor of the Pymble Ladies’ College Cantori Choir and the School Choir. She has travelled extensively, founding the College International ConcertTours in 1995.

Carine is a soprano who now sings in the Sydney Philharmonia Symphony Choir, recently also singing in the Chamber Choir.
