Bronte Florian as Jackie in Neil Gooding Productions & Highway Run Productions 'High Fidelity the Musical'.
Since the end of 2016 Bronte Florian, winner of the Sydney Eisteddfod Singer of the Year in 2011, has been busy performing in the hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots throughout the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane seasons. Taking on the role of a female swing, Bronte has entertained audiences understudying five of the female characters, including the two leads Lauren and Nicola.
However with the show set to finish it's Brisbane season at the end of October, Bronte has been busy preparing for life after Kinky Boots and has successfully been cast in the Neil Gooding Productions and Highway Run Productions musical High Fidelity. She will play the role of Jackie, one of lead character Rob's 'Top 5 Break Ups'.
The show is set to play at Hayes Theatre Co from 18 November and is based on the novel by Nick Hornby and the Touchstone Pictures Film starring John Cusack (2000).
“High Fidelity is a show that requires not only a cast of excellent singers and actors, but also performers that have great comic timing,” said director Neil Gooding.
Featuring an original score with music by Tom Kitt , winner of a Pulitzer Prize for Next to Normal – High Fidelity tells the story of life and vinyl while skilfully evoking the sounds and styles of the greatest artists a record store can offer: artists like Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, U2, The Beatles, Heart, Pat Benatar, Guns ’n’ Roses, Ben Folds, The Beastie Boys, Dr. Dre and Marvin Gaye.
Sydney Eisteddfod is incredibly proud of Bronte's achievements and can not wait to hear of more successes in the future!
