2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship winner Boyd Owen has received praise for his performances in the Melbourne Opera’s Otello and Eternity Opera Company’s Madam Butterfly in New Zealand in 2018. A review of Otello described Boyd as “exceptionally impressive in…the range of his tenor voice and the way he negotiated numerous florid passages”. (Classic Melbourne)
Boyd has travelled around the world to New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the USA throughout his career, performing in many highly esteemed shows. 2019 has lead Boyd to the United States of America for what will no doubt be another successful year in his career.

Boyd Owen also performed with Australian group The Ten Tenors for many years. His time with this musical group lead to many other experiences such as TV appearances on the Jerry Lewis Telethon (USA), Carols by Candlelight (Australia) and others in Germany, Norway and Sweden.
Boyd is a proud Sydney Eisteddfod alumni and who has built a reputation for himself as a "high calibre performer with an immense list of impressive performances". (Theatre People)
Alongside his outstanding victory with the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship in 2017, Boyd has seen success in the International Spazio Musica Competition held in Orvieto, Italy, the New Zealand Aria, the Herald Sun Aria in Melbourne, Australia and the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Amsterdam.
