"Strength, Discipline, Joy, Perfection, Expression"
- Ashlee Crowe, Finalist in the 2017 Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship
"I love ballet because it gives me such great satisfaction and joy. Being able to perform for an audience and express different emotions through storytelling is an amazing thing. I love to strive for perfection (as I am quite the perfectionist) and that feeling you get when you do something well pushes me to keep challenging myself. When you have spent months preparing and working so hard the reward of completion is so satisfying. It’s hard to describe the addictive feeling of the stage but every time I get to dance to beautiful music and perform amazing choreography I feel so happy, it can be very overwhelming! I feel like most dancers have a love hate relationship with dance but I love pushing myself to the limits and challenging myself. There is never an easy day in the studio, but ballet gives me such happiness, and every time I dance I enjoy it more and more."
