Percussionist Timothy Brigden has worked as a freelance percussionist professionally since 2006, with groups such as the Sydney Symphony, Synergy, Sydney Chamber Opera, Queensland Symphony, Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra; the Auckland Philharmonic in New Zealand and the BBC Concert Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Britain.
In 2010 Timothy was delighted to be the ‘Young Artist in Residence’ for Synergy Percussion and to have been involved in a number of their projects.
He has recently returned from London, after fulfilling a contract with the Southbank Sinfonia; performing in many major UK venues including, among many others, Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Opera House; under the baton of some renowned conductors such as Barry Wordsworth, Edward Gardiner, Oliver Knussen & Vladimir Ashkenazy.
Recent engagements include: Newbury Jazz festival with Jacqui Dankworth; Sydney Festival performance of Kurtag’s ‘Pas a Pas...nulle part’ with Sydney Chamber Opera; ‘ABC –Lexicon of Love’ UK tour; ‘The Sound of Music’ West End production tour to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and a tribute concert to Jon Lord with the remaining members of Deep Purple! Timothy is currently the percussionist for the Sydney run of Les Miserables at the Capitol theatre.
