In October, Mayor of Lane Cove David Brooks-Horn attended the Sydney Eisteddfod Alf & Pearl Memorial Pollard Awards for Performance Excellence. This stellar event always brings the annual McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod to a close and the Mayor was so impressed by talent that performed on its platform, he asked the festival organisers if it would be possible for one of its rising stars to perform at the forthcoming Mayoral Christmas Celebration.
Deciding a promising, young contemporary singer would best fit the bill, organisers delved into its galaxy of recent winners, and after careful consideration, offered the opportunity to Teagan Denham. A 16-year-old with a wonderful voice, Teagan graciously accepted the invitation.
Donning an elegant Versace gown, Teagan spread Christmas cheer singing All I Want for Christmas is You, Jingle Bell Rock, Silent Night and the song she loves best, Gravity.
The occasion is one she will always remember as she made her debut as a pop singer and delighted the crowd with her stellar performance.
