Sydney Eisteddfod salutes Jonathan Chan

Since 1933.

achieve.

Jonathan Chan is no stranger to Sydney Eisteddfod. He began making his mark in piano events in 2003, and, at the age of 12 in 2007, featured as guest artist at the Sydney Eisteddfod John Lamble Australasian Choral Championships playing the mighty Sydney Town Hall organ.

This year, when Jonathan returned to the competition as a classical singer he proved he has a voice as well as nimble fingers by winning the Operatic Voice, Lieder and Oratorio contests for his age group. Through these successes, he qualified for a place in the final of the Sydney Eisteddfod Joan Sutherland Memorial Vocal Scholarship (17-20 years) and again emerged triumphant.

A hugely talented and amazingly versatile young artist, Jonathan will again lift his voice in song on Sunday, 17 August, when he appears as the guest artist at the final of the Sydney Eisteddfod NSW Doctors Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship in Recital Hall West at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at 2.30pm.
