Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship finalist Zoe Drummond is off to New York to study with vocal, language and movement coaches.
On October 16, the soprano from Homebush was victorious against five other finalists during the final of the 2016 Lady Fairfax New York Scholarship run by The Opera Foundation for young Australians.
The final was a public recital at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where Zoe took home the $43,000 prize that will fund a six-week period of study in New York.
The Opera Foundation for young Australians congratulated Zoe and the other finalists on its website.
Zoe has had a busy end of year with performances with Opera Australia’s The Eighth Wonder at the Sydney Opera House and a trip to Berlin, Germany, for auditions.
Sydney Eisteddfod is incredibly proud of this amazing achievement and we wish her every bit of success in the new year. Well done Zoe!
