Simone Whetton


Simone Whetton’s interest in effective oral communication in our daily lives, as well as in performance, stems from her early years as a regular entrant in many eisteddfods throughout NSW. She obtained her AMEB Speech & Drama Teaching Diploma and taught for some years while studying law at the University of Sydney.

Simone is a partner in the corporate transactions and advisory group at commercial Colin Biggers & Paisley, and was formerly at Clayton Utz. She has advised on mergers and acquisitions for Australian and foreign companies for over 15 years. She speaks fluent German and acts for many large and medium sized German and other foreign companies in Australia.

She is the former Chair of 2RPH, Radio for the Print Handicapped (NSW) and was an announcer and host for over 10 years on this community radio station. As a current broadcaster on 702 ABC Sydney, Simone presents her ‘What's On’ segments on Saturday mornings, reviewing theatre, art, music and other cultural events in Sydney. She is a Senate elected director of the University of Sydney Union and is also on the board of Sydney based physical theatre company, Legs on the Wall.
