Rita Fin is widely recognised as one of the leading music educators and school administrators in Australia. She received her initial training at the Sydney Conservatorium where she majored in ‘Cello and Music Education. She then took post-graduate studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
On top of a very busy teaching career, including tertiary classes at the Sydney Conservatorium, she has worked extensively as a performer, playing with such groups as the Australian Baroque Orchestra, the Australian Opera, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and the ABC Sinfonia. She has conducted various ensembles for the Sydney Youth Orchestra and has been guest conductor for many other youth music groups and music camps throughout Australia and has been in great demand as guest lecturer/presenter at many conferences and workshops.
She has also been a writer for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s education programme as well as an experienced adjudicator for the Sydney Eisteddfod.
She was Director of Music at a leading Sydney school for nearly fourteen years, where she currently holds a senior executive position, as Assistant to the Headmaster.
