This stupendous choral contest bowed into the Sydney Eisteddfod program last year and proved so successful that it is being offered again in 2014.
Presented by Sydney Eisteddfod in partnership with the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove, this special sing-off carries a total prize purse of $28,000 and is widely regarded as the most valuable choral contest of its type presented Australia.
The 2013 Australian Choral Grand Prix was brilliantly produced and this year’s program promises to be equally varied with choirs of all ages and types singing everything from hymns to folk songs and pop.
To qualify for a place in the Australian Choral Grand Prix this year, the choirs that compete in this year’s final have all placed first or second in one of the three prestigious John Lamble Foundation Australasian Choral Championships that took place in June.
There is always something inspiring when a huge company of people lifts it voice in song with every indication of enjoyment. Indeed, many who attended the 2013 Australian Choral Grand Prix were amazed to discover just how diverse, delightful and entertaining choirs can be.
This year’s performance promises to be another great entertainment that the entire family will enjoy.
