Students from Elite Dance Centre at Glenwood are celebrating their success in recent tap and jazz contests at McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod. The students entered three events and scored brilliantly on each occasion.
The juniors set the pace by finishing a proud second in Jazz Dance Group for children aged 10 years and under. Not to be outdone, the older dancers gave a sparkling performance in the open age Tap Dance for 4-9 dancers and after finishing one mark behind the winner, collected a second silver medal for the Centre. Then, the newly confident jazz team struck gold with a novel routine that was so well polished that none of its rivals could match it. Adjudicator Tracey Morley congratulated the dancers on their wonderful presentation and said the choreography they performed was so well spaced, it was the cleanest she had seen in a long time.
This is a great result for a suburban dance school and both the performers and teachers have every reason to take pride in their achievements.
