Press Release: Last chance for aspiring musicians to enter the 2014 McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod

18 March 2014

The 2014 McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod Syllabus is packed with events for solo musicians of all ages and types. There are extensive programs for string, woodwind and brass players, along with a special section for classical guitarists. There are also 30 events for pianists of primary or secondary school age, along with a number of open events for older players and youngsters who want to test their skills at higher levels.

Most events for solo musicians will take place at Shore School, a venue conveniently located near North Sydney railway station.

For 81 years, aspiring instrumentalists and pianists have been competing on Sydney Eisteddfod stages. A recent analysis of the careers of Sydney Eisteddfod alumni proves that over the past eight decades, over ten thousand former placegetters in piano and instrumental categories have made successful careers in music.

The complete Syllabus can be viewed on the Sydney Eisteddfod website.

Entries can be lodged online through the above website or by fax to 02 9261 8161. For further information or a printed copy of the Syllabus, contact Sydney Eisteddfod by phoning 02 9261 8366 or emailing info@sydneyeisteddfod.com.au
