Pianist wins ARIA Award

Bravas galore for pianist Tamara Anna Cislowska who won the 2015 ARIA Award for the Best Classical Album with her double CD Peter Sculthorpe: Complete works for solo piano.

Tamara Anna has always been enraptured by Sculthorpe’s music and has made it her business to play every note he wrote.  Born with music in her blood, she gave her first public appearance at two, began recording for the ABC at three and won her first Sydney Eisteddfod medal at four. At 14, she became the youngest pianist to ever win the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year Award and realised a dream by playing Sculthorpe’s Piano Concerto with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.  That year, Tamara Anna also won ‘Sydney’s Finest’ competition and toured the United States, Japan and New Zealand as a musical ambassador for Australia.

Since then, she has enjoyed a brilliant career performing in various parts of the world. Between 1981 and 1992 she collected 101 medals for music, singing, speech and drama on Sydney Eisteddfod stages. Her name shines brightly in its galaxy of stars, and applauding her latest victory, the Sydney Eisteddfod team takes pleasure in toasting her success.
