Panayiota Kalatzis crowned winner of Melbourne’s Herald Sun Aria


Sydney Eisteddfod extends heartfelt congratulations to Panayiota Kalatzis, who took out top honours in the 92nd Herald Sun Aria competition. The 2016 Opera & Arts Support Group Scholarship finalist was awarded $15,000 cash and a $22,500 scholarship for overseas tuition.

She has recently completed her MA in Advanced Vocal Studies with Honors from the Wales International Academy of Voice under the tutelage of Dennis O’Neill. This year, in addition to the Opera & Arts Support Group Scholarship she also competed in the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship.

Over the years Panayiota has been invited to sing in many distinguished events in Australia, UK and Europe, including the Admiralty House for Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce (NSW), Queensland Symphony Orchestra Sunday Series, Champagne reception Australia House (UK), AusNZ Festival (UK), Cardiff Singer of the World Concert (UK) and Easter Mass at L’eglis Correns (France).
