After winning the second Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship in 2012, Aaron Kok studied at Nationale Balletacademie in Amsterdam. He graduated in June 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and soon began an internship with the introdans company in Arnhem. Still keenly involved with introdans’ Something-Old-Something New program, Aaron is also displaying other talents. In December, the Dutch National Ballet called him back to Amsterdam to run a week-long workshop. He greatly enjoyed this experience, and next month he will reveal another of his gifts by presenting his own choreography at Stukafest Studenten Kamer Festival. Entitled Without Sight, this unusual work explores the difference between relying on yourself for your own happiness and the growth that someone else creates for you. To illustrate this point, the work is repeated twice, once with a blindfold on one of the dancers and the other without.
Sydney Eisteddfod takes pride in Aaron’s achievements and wishes him future success.
