Since 1933 Sydney Eisteddfod has been encouraging young singers, musicians, dancers and actors in the pursuit of excellence across every facet of the performing arts. It has evolved into one of the world’s largest and most successful performing arts festivals. Sydney Eisteddfod has seen countless stories of success and its platform has served as a starting point for some of Australia’s greatest artists.
I take this opportunity to applaud the Sydney Eisteddfod directors, staff, performers and generous volunteers who contribute to the production of this outstanding performing arts Festival.
Having played in instrumental events, I recall my own Sydney Eisteddfod experiences with great fondness. Performing in public builds confidence. Although not every entrant emerges with a prize, everyone learns, and most thoroughly enjoy their experience.
Sydney Eisteddfod has played a significant role in the cultural fabric of our city for over 85 years and it is destined to inspire our love of the arts for decades to come.
