Sydney Eisteddfod extends heartfelt congratulations to Makensie Henson, 2016 Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship finalist, who has recently accepted an offer to train at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London.
Mackenzie has graced the Sydney Eisteddfod stage for some time now and each year has demonstrated her hard working and determined nature. Her performance in this year’s Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship revealed that she has blossomed into a beautiful young ballet dancer with equal technical and performance abilities.
Studying under Prudence Bowen and Heidi Landford at Prudence Bowen Atelier, Makensie has gone on to win numerous prizes at some of the most respected and challenging ballet competitions around the world. In 2015 she received a bronze medal in the Genée International Ballet Competition and earlier this year took out third prize in the senior women’s section of the 2016 Youth of America Grand Prix. She has also previously competed as a finalist in the Prix de Lausanne.
Sydney Eisteddfod takes great pleasure in wishing her every success and is certain that this exciting journey will only lead to greater opportunities in the future.
