Jane Standish studied classical ballet, jazz and contemporary under the guidance of Amanda Clerke and Tanya Pearson. At the age of 15 she auditioned for ballet schools in Europe and accepted a position with the Hamburg Ballet School under the direction of John Neumeier. After two years of full time study she joined the Leipzig Ballet company where she worked as a member of the corps de ballet for one year, dancing in ballets by Uwe Scholz, John Cranko and Jiri Kylian. In 2000 she returned to the Hamburg Ballet Company where she performed in a variety of ballets created by John Neumeier, Christopher Wheeldon and Natalia Makarova. Jane travelled extensively with the company and performed in theatres throughout Europe, USA and Asia including the Paris Opera Garnier and the Maryinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.
Jane continues to expand her horizons in dance through teaching, coaching and adjudicating as well as training at Sydney Dance Company. In 2009 Jane graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of International Communications and a Diploma in German language and is now working for a NSW State Minister in an advisory role.
