Gretel Scarlett is a 2008 graduate of WAAPA after being awarded the Leslie Anderson Award, The Hal Leonard Award and the 2007 Finley Award. She is best know for playing the starring role of Australia's Sandy, in GFO's Grease the Musical from 2013-2015. Past credits include Sal in the 2009 Australian Tour of Breast Wishes, the 10th Anniversary tour of Mamma Mia (understudy Sophie/Ali/Lisa), Sally in Matthew Robinson's Happy People, and the Witch's Mother in the 2010-2012 Australian tour of Wicked the Musical (understudy Elphaba/Nessarose).

Gretel's appearances include singing the National Anthem at the 2013 NRL State of Origin, a Top 6 Finalist in the 3rd Inaugural ANZ Trustees Rob Guest Endowment, the 2013 ACMF Duets concert, Mornings on 9, Channel 7's Carols in the Domain, the Helpmann Awards, Light The Night, and performing alongside Kristin Chenoweth at Melbourne's Hamer Hall. Having completed her Trinity & AMEB Classical Voice and Speech/Drama, Gretel also studied full-time Classical Ballet at Alegria Dance Studios, completing her final RAD Examination (ARAD), Cecchetti Ballet as well as Contemporary, FATD Jazz & Tap. During 2014, she recorded her debut solo album titled 'Hopelessly Devoted' which is available online.
