Although the 2016 Sydney Eisteddfod season is well under way, the Contemporary Singing events have yet to start, making their first debut on the 23rd July. Anticipation is building fast as entrants and judges prepare for the variety of genres and songs this year will display. From Country to Musical Theatre , the contemporary singing events are always entertaining and enjoyable for all.
The calibre of young vocalists in Sydney Eisteddfod's Contemporary Singing events is widely recognised and applauded. In the past, entrants have gone on to be featured on TV shows such as The X-Factor, The Voice and The Voice Kids and this year will surely reveal many more talent singers who will forge careers in the music industry.
In 2016 Sydney Eisteddfod's Contemporary Singing events will be held at a number of venues across Sydney including Petersham RSL Cub, AIM and APGS.
The two major events for the Contemporary Singing category are the Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Singer of the Year and Sydney Eisteddfod Junior Singer of the Year, where finalists showcase their talents in a cabaret style atmosphere. Senior Finalists also have the opportunity to perform with a four-piece band, an exciting experience for many.
