Sydney Eisteddfod takes great pleasure in announcing Francis Greep and Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith as the esteemed judges for the 2016 Australian Choral Grand Prix. Both share a distinct love for choral music and are dedicated to the continuation and growth of the art form.
Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith is an experienced vocal coach and choral conductor, having chorusmastered for a variety of choirs and performances. She is currently the Music Director of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir, Director of Music at St Andrew’s College and Principal Conductor with the Macquarie University Singers.
Over the years, Francis Greep has developed an admired reputation for his work as a vocal coach, recitalist, chorusmaster, continuo player and conductor. Furthermore, he is currently the Marketing and Development Manager for the world-renowned Gondwana Choirs, a leader in choral performance for young musicians in Australia.
It is sure to be a fabulous event, as eight choirs showcase their talent and vocal skills in the hope of gaining top honours in both the People’s Choice and Jury Vote categories.
The Australian Choral Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 21 August at 2.30pm in the New Hall of Sydney Grammar School.
