Carl Sciberras is a freelance dance artist and producer from Western Sydney whose work has been reviewed as "a sign of the future." Carl has a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Writing and Cultural Studies) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and the University of Technology Sydney respectively. Carl is the Co-Founder and Director of Flatline and Dance Makers Collective and Co-Artistic Director of the ACPE Dance Company. As a choreographer, Carl has made works for PACT Centre for Emerging Artists (2015), Metro Arts (2015), Riverside Theatres (2014, 2013), First Draft (2015), Art Est (2014), The National Centre for Drawing (2013), BEAMS Festival (2015, 2014, 2013), White Night Melbourne (2014), Home Brew Festival (2012) and Sydney Fringe Festival (2012).
As a dancer, Carl has worked with Force Majeure, Sam Chester, Emma Fishwick, Victoria Hunt, Jason Pitt, La Fura Dels Baus, Dance Makers Collective, Sue Peacock, Dean Walsh, Felicity Bott, Xiaoxiong Zhang and Matthew Morris. Until 2015, Carl worked as the Marketing, Program and Education Coordinator at FORM Dance Projects where he ran Sharp Short Dance and Fast+Fresh Dance. Carl has an extensive history of teaching dance to primary, secondary and tertiary students across Australia. He has also worked in multiple administrative roles for organisations such as Ars Musica Australis and Ausdance NSW. Carl has widespread experience as a producer and project manager for various arts projects.
