Australian Choral Grand Prix Finalists Brigidine College (St Ives) were crowned champions in the Australian A Cappella Awards.
The school’s Senior Vocal Ensemble, who placed third in this year’s John Lamble Foundation Australasian Championship For Youth Choirs (19/u), were among 30 choirs from around the country in the national annual competition for adult, university and school a cappella groups in Melbourne on September 14.
The ensemble won first place in the School Division with a score of 264 / 300. In the School Championship Final they won Best Contemporary Song with Royals, Best Comedy Song with Movie Medley and student Tiegan Denina was chosen as the Best Soloist for her performance in Royals.
It has been a busy year for the choir and they are showing no signs of slowing down now as they are preparing to sing a number of songs in the college’s annual Carols by Candlelight coming up on November 25.
They are also working on a project to release some group and solo performances on SoundCloud.
Congratulations to Brigidine College Senior Vocal Ensemble and the wonderful year they are having!
