Bravas galore for Makensie Henson

achieve.

Sydney Eisteddfod takes pleasure in congratulating Makensie Henson who has added another international award to her growing trophy collection by finishing third in the senior women’s section of the 2016 Youth of America Grand Prix. Makensie, who studies with Prudence Bowen and Heidi Landford in Queensland, was the only Australian to win a medal in New York this year.

A frequent winner at Sydney Eisteddfod, she came third in the Sydney Eisteddfod Robert & Elizabeth Albert Junior Classical Ballet last year.  A few weeks later, she flew to London, to compete in Genée International Ballet Competition, where she repeated one success with another by finishing third behind Lania Atkins, another Sydney Eisteddfod champion, who claimed the silver medal.  Then, in February, she succeeded in dancing her way into the final round of the Prix de Lausanne.

Makensie has every reason to take pride in her efforts and is fast establishing herself among the most gifted young dancers in the world.
