Ayesha Gough wins the 2014 Sydney Eisteddfod Allison/Henderson Piano Scholarship

Sydney Eisteddfod applauds 19-year-old Ayesha Gough who won the Sydney Eisteddfod Allison/Henderson Piano Scholarship playing Beethoven’s Sonata No. 32 Op.111.  The youngest of the four finalists competing in the 2014 final,  Ayesha,  made her mark as the first female to triumph since Joanne Kang in 2009.  

Born in Darwin and now studying in with Oleg Stepanov in Brisbane, she was clearly not expecting to win.  She accepted her prize with with delighted amazement, and after thanking Mrs Louise Allison and The Late John Allison for sponsoring the award, hastened to the airport to catch her flight home.

Ayesha has already placed in two important competitions, and this latest victory further confirms her talent.  She obviously has the dedication to succeed and Sydney Eisteddfod wishes her every success in her future musical endeavours.
