Anna adds more strings to her bow

Since winning the Sydney Eisteddfod NSW Drs Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship in 2013, violinist Anna Da Silva Chen has rarely been out of the news. In 2014, as a finalist in the prestigious ABC Young Performer of the Year Award, she performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Christopher Seaman and emerged with the Nelly Apt Scholarship, plus a $7,500 Concerto Finalist Prize.

During the 2014/2015 summer holidays, Anna attended the Australian Youth Orchestra Music Camp in Adelaide, where she took on the role of concertmaster and led a piano quintet in a performance broadcast on ABC Classic FM. In February 2015, Anna will feature with conductor Guy Noble and the Canberra Symphony Orchestra in at a Shell Prom Concert in the grounds of Government House, playing Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy.

Always a champion, Anna continues to develop as both a musician and artist. Sydney Eisteddfod applauds her progress and has heard from her proud Dad that she has a date with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in July 2015.
