Three cheers to violinist Wendy Kong, winner of the 2014 NSW Drs Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship, who was recently offered a position with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
After completing an intense three round audition process, the position was proposed to her and she will begin her trial period with the orchestra in July, 2016. This is a huge achievement for Wendy, who has been playing the violin since she was six years old with great success.
Having always showed a flair and talent in the instrument, she made her soloist debut in with the Sutherland Symphony Orchestra at the age of 14. Earlier in 2016, she performed as soloist at ACO Academy in Brisbane adding another fine accomplishment to her name.
We wish Wendy the best of luck as she enters this new chapter and can’t wait to hear about her future performances.
